I am human (homo sapiens sapiens) , a native of the planet Earth. I am also an Animal, a Mammal, and a Primate: as such I am warm-blooded, and personally semi-nocturnal. I’m roughly six feet tall, brown-eyed, and have a relatively low melanin content in my skin. I currently live on the continent of North America and am also a native thereof. I was born in the last third of the Twentieth Century of the Common Era ( C.E., aka: A.D.). Okay, okay...to be more specific: I was born on June 27th, 1966 at 2:06 PM at Portchester General Hospital in Portchester, New York. My father was a twenty-year old Cuban immigrant, a mechanic with an auto repair business/gas station (at the time: a Sunoco station) in Portchester. My mother was 16 years old and a Cuban immigrant as well. They married a few months before I was born. Both families had fled Havana when Fidel Castro took power in 1959. They were not allowed to take anything except their clothes and the jewelry that the women smuggled out in their bras (I'm not making this stuff up). They went to New York, where other family members put them up until they got back on their feet. I was conceived six years later, most likely in the backseat of a '57 Chevy (lots of leg-room). We moved to Norwalk, Connecticut when I was 8 years old. In 1976 we moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to a neighborhood called Coral Ridge Isles. My elementary (Floranada), Middle (Rickards), and High School (Northeast) were all within walking distance. Since then I have lived in Los Angeles; Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Roanoke, Virginia; New Orleans, and came back to Florida in 1999. I have a roommate named Alex, and a Toy Fox Terrier named 'Ratface' (not my choice of names). I enjoy thinking, reading, and writing (in that order). I am currently disabled. How's that?
